The beautiful "Donzu Series" with lustrous fabric
A rich, textured fabric created by satin weaving is called donzu, characterized by its lustrous and smooth feel. Donzu arrived in Japan from China during the Kamakura period, and some examples are still preserved as "Meibutsu-gire" (famous textiles). This fabric is sometimes used for obis, mounting materials, tea ceremony utensils, and shifuku (protective coverings). This series of crafts is made from fabric that utilizes the special characteristics of donzu.
It has a luxurious feel and can be used for formal occasions.
