The beautiful "Donso Series" with lustrous fabric
Fabric with a rich texture created by satin weaving is called "donsu," characterized by its rich luster and smooth feel. Donsu arrived in Japan from China during the Kamakura period, and some of these textiles have been preserved as "meibutsu-gire" (famous fabrics). This fabric is sometimes used for obis, mounting accessories, tea ceremony utensils, and shifuku (protective bags for tea utensils). This series of crafts is made from fabric that takes advantage of the characteristics of donsu.

The fabric used in the Donso series is smooth and pleasant to the touch, like satin, and its beautiful luster, which shines differently depending on the angle, is gorgeous and luxurious.

These storage cases are made using traditional handmade methods, where fabric is carefully stretched over a sturdy board cardboard core, one by one. They are crafted using the same artisanal techniques that our parent company, a Japanese sundries manufacturer, has been perfecting for nearly half a century.
